HA7 - Task 3 - Geometric Theory

What are the fundamental principles behind the creation of virtual 3D space? Describe and explain 3D geometry.

3D space allows us to see/interact with things as we would in the real world. If we want to see the back of a 2D object, we can't as it's back doesn't exist, while a 3D object allows you to go around it/rotate it, allowing you to see all of it.

The creation of 3D space is based in 3 dimensions X,Y and Z (while 2D is just X and Y). The shapes made in 3d are made using faces, edges and vertices.

The models in 3D space are constructed of a "mesh" of 2D shapes that, when combined and connected, form a 3D shape. These meshes are usually made of quads covering the large areas and tris in the smaller, more detailed areas.
